Join the Margaret Mitchell House & MuseumStep inside the South's most unforgettable story by becoming a member of the Margaret Mitchell House & Museum, birthplace of Gone With The Wind. It's never been a more exciting time to become part of the history of the house that survived two arson attempts to become the South's most famous literary landmark and the Literary Center. Daily tours are steeped in history and Hollywood, from the tiny apartment where Margaret wrote her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, to the museum about the movie Ted Turner described as "the jewel in the crown" of the MGM library. Our MissionTo create a world-renowned Atlanta attraction that communicates the story of Margaret Mitchell and the phenomenon of Gone With The Wind through educational exhibitions, programs, and publications. Our VisionTo explore the human experience through the works of Southern writers and journalists in forums that encourage open dialogue among people of diverse points of view. Our GoalsTo underscore the institution's historical and contemporary relevancy by expanding on the many themes which arise from the study of Margaret Mitchell's life and the phenomenon of Gone With the Wind.
